During the ESPYS when Caitlyn Jenner was accepting the Arthur Ashe Courage Award, director Peter Berg posted a meme that included a soldier (because freedom! heroes! except if they’re in Jade Helm or one of the ones who spent $104M on EBT cards on military bases last year!) and Caitlyn Jenner with the caption that read
“One man traded 2 legs for the freedom of the other to trade 2 balls for 2 boobs.”
Cool meme, bro. I completely understand. Whenever a transgendered person has surgery, and angel loses its legs. Or not. I don’t know. To be to totally honest, I don’t understand the comparison. Coincidentally, when Arthur Ashe publicly announced he had HIV in 1992, Peter Berg posted a meme on Instagram with the caption that read, “LOL only faggots get AIDS”. I think. Maybe. Probably. Anyway, today he wants you to know that he has the utmost respect for Caitlyn Jenner, BUT SOLDIERS YOU GUYS.
“I also believe that we don’t give enough attention to our courageous returning war veterans, many of whom have sacrificed their bodies and mental health for our country and our principals- principals that include the freedom to live the life you want to live without persecution or abuse.”
Agreed. All true (go back to that EBT card thing. and the homelessness thing. and the suicide thing. and the mental health thing. and the VA hospital thing, etc). But by that logic, if the guy in the meme had his legs back, he would kick your ass for abusing he sacrificed to protect, correct? Or were the Vietnam soldiers the real heroes of the Civil Rights movement? I’m really confused right now.
