Without giving any sort of explanation, other than maybe realizing the movie will be  coming out two months after Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Warner Bros. head Dan Fellman released a statement saying Batman vs. Superman will be released in May 2016 instead of July 2015. Variety reports:

"We share the fans' excitement to see DC Comics’ most popular figures, Superman and Batman, together on the big screen for the first time, which will now be arriving in theaters in May 2016," Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution said in a press release. The sentiment was echoed by Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, president of international distribution for Warner Bros. Pictures. "We know that there is already great anticipation building for the next Super Hero [sic] film from Zack Snyder, and we are equally eager to see what he has in store for Superman and Batman as they share the big screen for the first time ever," she said in the statement.

It's unclear why they would delay a film Warner Bros. is hoping like a Make-A-Wish kid will finally compete with Marvel and launch Justice League franchise for an entire year, but I'd like to think somebody raised their hand in a meeting and said, "Ummm, Wonder Woman has no titties. The woman we cast as Wonder Woman has no titties. We can't have a no titty Wonder Woman running around. That ain't right. Wonder Woman needs titties. Women need titties. Let's wait a year. Think of how much we'll save on not having to CGI out the stitches."
